They casted her exactly for subversive and promotional reasons. Everyone knew it would cause a reaction. The hypocrisy of the Nyongo to demand that Black Panther be all black for historical and authenticity sake, but claim The Odyssey is for the world is off the charts.
And they knew the castings that were off had little screen time but were featured in a huge amount of marketing for a reason.
If you showed me nothing else but that casting, I'd honestly have expected it to be a parody movie. Helen of Troy is supposed to be the most beautiful woman in the world, and they picked a massively ugly one. I mean she's even ugly by nigger standards, because wouldn't that be giant fat ass, fake tits, and a thong?
