I still do this even when the pack come in plastic bags, and especially if just shitty string nets. I have no idea who has picked up the bag of apples or oranges before me, and no idea what was on their hands.

The oocysts are downright microscopic and are deposited in the folds of lettuce. Basically armor that clings despite pouring water and is resistant to vinegar and chlorine typically used to wash veggies.

Washing doesn't help get rid of parasites like cyclospora though.
