Floyd was already saying "I can't breathe" before the infamous restraint because he had overdosed on two different illegal drugs that cause cardiopulmonary failure. Him saying he couldn't breathe was the proof the police were not responsible, because he physically could not have spoken if mechanical force was preventing him from inhaling and exhaling.
Yeah I suppose violent wasn't the word I was going for. It came to mind since junkies are as likely to die from bum fights as they are to OD. The point is these types tend to die in a way that no one knows or cares about unless it proves useful for race communists. Floyd would have ended up as another unclaimed body at the morgue had he ODed under any other circumstances.
