I'm sitting here at my mom's house and she listening to this Glenn Beck episode on the Citizen Vigilante movie.
She is 76 and is 100% absolutely Boomercon in mentality.
Predictably, Glenn absolutely misses the point of the movie. My mom loves him because "he's Christian!111!!!11", and all I say is, "Glenn is a product of his sources."
I've had discussions with my mother regarding all of these online identification laws, I've pretty much decided it's totally impossible to convince her. She would literally give up any and all "modern" free communication, then after we are forced to smoke signals, she'd have us taken away for using code in our smoke signals. All while claiming she's totally in support of free speech, but basically it must be totally limited "out there on the internet" because it's too easy to talk about unapproved things.
There's some sort of massive trust in government built into that generation. They took 1984 as a guidebook. 1984 is nothing more than a modern recreation of Utopia for them.
