Women don't play baseball, just softball. May have something to do with their lack of musculature to throw a ball worth a damn.

Edit: Looked into it further. Thanks to Title IX, softball was considered an equivalent to men's baseball, so all the support and infrastructure went there. Women's baseball will be even more dreadful, the domain of carpet munchers with penis envy.
