Never got into this manga but the new anime does look sick. Hopefully Netflix* was not involved with the production and it stays based

If it is on Netflix, beware of the second season curse.

They're not. Netflix was involved with SAC_2045, which is a stiff, stale impersonation of Production I.G.'s GitS.
It should be avoided without any hesitation.
Fans should take a big sigh of relief then.
