(most) White people have the privilege of watching fiction, and understanding it's fiction.
People that can't be the bad guy: women, anyone not white. Because that one bad guy in the film that is the woman or the black guy somehow represents all women or all black people everywhere, and that's sexist and that's racist, etc.
Thinking a bit more, the last time a woman was the bad guy in a film that didn't suck was Dredd in 2012, and it bombed. Which really sucks because Ma-ma was a fantastic villain. A wholly complete, yet broken individual with a horrible, but thought out back story that had reasons for being the way she was.
If it had come out five or six years earlier, it would have been a cult hit on dvd like idiocracy. And then if there was a sequel to that around 2012...

Disgustingly under-appreciated movie; easily better than the Stalone one.
