While I have little sympathy for the woman, what the hell was that civilian thinking just walking right up to her in the middle of a gunfight? What exactly did he think was going to happen? Was he trying to help the other cop who had been shot? Maybe I am missing the context of what is happening here.
When trouble starts, people run away or to the police. This is instinctual. It’s been drilled into White Western heads since birth for a century. The fact you’re even questioning it means either you don’t live in the West and/or your local police force has been trash for a very very long time.

Yeah I guess I could see that, but you would think that instinct would be overridden by the more powerful instinct to run AWAY from gunfire.
