Has anyone (paging u/goldeninnosstatue ) played the new gothic 1 remake? I saw it was released earlier this month and they want $50 for it… is it worth it?

I had low expectations for it and somehow Alkimia knocked it out of the park with this one
like genuinely suprised they didn't rape the remake with faggotry and feminism (though they did include some quests involving Foid quests but they were faithfully realistic how helpless and weak foids are in a prison colony)
in terms of gameplay it is solid, you can feel the progression as you level up and improve your skills and mastery of combat, magic is also available early if you want to be more of a mage character but i highly recommend you go Swamp camp because they got early magic circles (though its capped at 4 the best spells are circle 4)
I've finished this game 3 times and on my third playthrough i did permadeath and nosleep challange which i actually managed to beat with ease on Gothic difficulty
so yes, i fuckin recommended wholeheartedly
should you buy it full price? fuck no, buy a key for 30 euros (or less) i personally recommend Yuplay for fast key delivery and no hidden fees but frankly you can pirate it since it released with no DRM and the devs DID try to take ESG bribe and turn all the foids into trannies but the backlash was so strong they quietly de-trooned the women and now they look like 6/10 polish maids in terms of raw beauty at least they kept the revealing outfits which to me is a Chud victory...
now its not perfect, they ROYALLY fucked the English Dub by making it shitty British slang and changed words for no fuckin reasons like instead of crawler Secretion its now Crawler Ichor and instead of "protect the ore, protect the mages" its protect the nugs protect the mages
stupid changes that only affect the English version because the German and Polish versions are faithful to the original (and they even brought back the ORIGINAL voice actors for it)
they also changed some major characters in the story like now Lee was thrown into the Colony for critising the king instead of his advisors killing his wife and blaming the general because... reasons? i dunno they changed things for the sake of change not because its a "better story"
The Intro also completely butchers the tone of the King so i also recommend skipping it
but they did add a ton of new content, new zones and revamped existing zones, despite that i still feel the game was pretty short and the factions are pretty identical in terms of content like there is barely any new quests, there is promotion quests (like from novice to templar or shadow to guard etc) which is the only difference in content between the camps making your faction choice feel somewhat lackluster?
its not a perfect remake by any means, but its a GOOD remake by industry standards, i give it a solid 7.8/10 and the blessings of Adanos regardless if you sail it from the high seas or buy a key (i did both, and after enjoying it so much i actually bought a key for 29,84 euro)
How is it for a mage playthrough overall? Sort of my preferred archetype.
its incredibly strong at the beginning but somewhat loses its strength in the lategame
like ideally its best to go strength and learn two handed combat, but you can mix and match
i've done archery (highest ranged DPS due to fast arrow knocking) i've done two handed and i've even done a quasi-mage playthrough (firebolt will carry you throughout the early game against low level humans, goblins, black goblins and even orc scouts & orc dogs)
if you wanna go mage hit the new camp for magical ring that increase your mana by 15 that way you can go to the old-camp and get circle 0 runes (firebolt/healing, and take firebolt)
