My question is on whether they're calling him racist solely on him cleaning up the streets. If you ask me, that seems wildly far fetched.
A quick search will show that he has been called racist for his work with ACT for America and his fight against DACA. It seems more likely they were calling him racist because of those ties, rather than just the fact that he's cleaning up some trash.
I doubt its that deep yes, these very broad and nebulous accusations make it seem as though any opinion not 100% in favor with the right of illegal entrants or Islam is rooted in emotions of hatred rather than quoting what his actual thoughts are on the matter.
My favorite example is how every person in Canada now agrees with this but Maxine Bernier and the PPC were still vilified with the same labels used here.

The point is, picking up trash is never going to be seen as racist. To claim so makes this site look retarded.
