Now the idea of a post-scarcity society is nothing but obese parasites who park themselves by the replicator and gorge themselves like they're putting a Red Lobster out of business, and can do this until they're 100 thanks to the free heart transplant they get every five years. One thing I remember was that holodecks are a public amenity, Quark was amazed when that one alien who wanted a model of Major Kira had his own private holosuite on his ship. Meaning if you're a civilian on Earth, if you want to LARP you have to queue up behind however many dozens of Indian men who'd so things I'd hope would be illegal in the 24th century. Nothing would get the smell out, not even excoriating the walls and floor with a phaser.
