But they don't HUNT you like a puma, wolf, or many other carnivorous predators would. They'd just as likely wish you to fuck off and go away. Even many that kill people only did so out of protecting young or feeling confronted, or you surprised them. Most won't eat you like a wolf eats a caribou.

They're omnivores who are just as content eating berries and shit, or scavenging wolf kills, or scooping salmon. I'm pretty certain that charging down prey is the last option for almost any bear besides a polar bear
