Right, I mean, if this were Small Town, America and Jimbob's stupid kid Cletus stole a soda from your store, you wouldn't need to shoot him, because you could go to Jimbob's house and he'd whip his own kid for daring such a thing, and then the next week's sermon at church would be about how thieves are the devil incarnate and going to hell, and then Cletus would never dare steal again.

The problem is we have whole towns now of stupid kids & adults who say they should be treated with deference all the time like they were part of your family but also say they aren't like you and in fact they hate you and you're responsible for all the problems in their lives, so they deserve to hurt you as much as they can and you can't complain. So yes in this case, shoot the fucker.
