Consider the fact that trains are generally known for being on set tracks...
Jeets are not known for their intelligence. Trying to shoo away a hungry wild elephant is about as intelligent as playing chicken with a train.
Rural East Indians have various "prayers" to shoo away cows & other critters. It sounds exactly like screaming at them & waving scary things, but NO! It's "a prayer" and not swearing & flailing. 😃
Do these work? Not always, obviously, and it takes large groups to work on elephants. Clearly it didn't work here.
It's possibly a lone bull during mating season. They're famously ill-tempered & prone to killing anything that annoys them. Same for bores & bulls.
