The proliferation of women and minorities in any space marks a pivot from merit to hand outs. It is the exact moment a successful institution or organization is transformed into a jobs program for people who contribute no value. And it only ever happens at successful spaces because they are the only spaces - definitionally - that generate surplus value worth targeting and redistributing. No one ever tried to "improve" a poor, failing business with the magical cure-all of diversity. No, that salve is reserved only for healthy patients (who then immediately become sick for no reason at all).
