When in doubt, go with the version of the story that assumes the government (which includes Tulsi Gabbard's office) is bullshitting us yet again for some unknown reason
Well that's the thing; it's two sides who are both part of government giving competing narratives. So which 'don't believe the government' hold more water objectively, when you remove the 'I want X version to be true because it aligns more with my worldview' factor?
Honest question, has ANYTHING good the CIA EVER has done outweighed the bad they've done to justify them existing?
I'm hard pressed to think of anything they've ever done that was genuinely good.
I mean we got the Blackbird from them. Other than that, nothing really.
That's why I'm asking as I REALLY can't think of ANYTHING good they have done.
Even psyops as the Daily industry has better psyops than them!
Seems we've entered a denial phase, in spite of FOX news and a member of congress reporting this.

Why is one report automatically more valid than another, beyond giving one version of the story more credence because one wants it to be true?

They got the Black Ops, which inspired a ton of great media, books, games, etc.
Plus an Intelligence division is an essential prong of every modern military, and the CIA is our foreign intelligence.
