There is some automated farm equipment, yes. But we still require about 3.5 million farm workers, and about 2.5 million of them are non-citizens.
And the idea that we'll just make lots of better robots really fast is just, you know, dipshittery. If we could do that, we'd have already done it. Don't get me wrong, it'll happen, but probably not for like 50 years.
Eliminate welfare. You'd find millions suddenly hungry for any job.
And, while not my preference, nothing prohibits you from backfilling the deported illegals with would-be legal immigrants who are waiting in their home countries instead of committing crimes.

You mean eliminate SNAP? Yeah, I assure you that the $180/month debit card is not the determining factor in whether these people go work in fields and slaughterhouses. The government just hands those out at the behest of Wal Mart, to slightly reduce shoplifting.
Problem solved I guess. Eliminate SNAP. Either they work for food or they shoplift, get incarcerated, and they can work for food anyway.
We're talking about 42 million Americans. Police can't possibly catch that much shoplifting, and even if we could, our prison capacity is about 1.1 million and it's already well over capacity.
You're also suggesting we just make one eighth of the population into slaves. Okay, who the fuck is going to oversee the slavery? Nothing you're saying is realistic or thought through.
Which has been my point the whole time. Politicians tell you they're gonna deport all the migrants, and the very second that they're forced to deal with reality in any way, they're like: oh.
