A group of bankers at a smaller investment bank in town all quit for this reason (too many women and nons not doing enough work and the White men expected to pickup the slack). HR would sent out new hiring lists in a city that was like 70% White where 8/10 potential candidates were black and they'd call it the most diverse candidate selection ever. Diverse? 8/10 blacks in a city of 70% Whites? Uh huh... I lost out on a job paying $100k/yr more literally because the Hiring Manager wanted to hire a woman over me because she was the first woman on the team. She failed her case study for the interview process that I did acceptable on. That setback unfortunately cost me pretty much my whole career because it was my last opportunity for that role before I aged out.
And since I work in banking, I've seen all the Temporary Foreign Worker programs from the side of the businesses and it's fucking insane. There's no way domestic Canadians can compete against the government throwing money at businesses to hire foreigners. Yet, you'll deny this is going on?
