Yep, the Satanic Panic folks are just the same coin as the SJW folks today. Group of people who want to enforce their opinions on others with no self reflection of the evil they're doing. It's about power, not morals. The society at the time allowed them to behave like this, so they did.

I lived through it all! Satanic Panic, D&D is demon worship, "backwards masking", anti-nuclear activism & more. Mostly while at a Fundamentalist Christian boarding school (because my high school had a shooting in 1979... in Canada!).
It was all openly idiotic! But the Media ran with it & there was lots of money to be made "investigating" these things.
