For those not already in the know, ollama+sillytavern and a crummy 8b model can do this by just putting a simple 'Aunt Patty and Selma from the Simpsons. They just got done smoking three packs of malboros.' or some such in the character description.
Or if you actually want something more fun just put 'Setting:JRR Tolkien's Legendarium', though a larger 24-50b model is better for adventures.
The real story here is Japan breaking the app store monopolies on iOS and Android. Now they can't censor or shake down app devs.
Android never really had an app store monopoly. You could always download and install .apk files from anywhere on the Internet.
Epic did it after losing their lawsuit(s), but Apple is more wall-gardened so their iOS offering is supposed to be EU-only based on earlier searching.
I guess that may have or will change in Japan if Epic cares for the market. DMM is (presumably) much more culturally relevant there, however, given gacha.
