I don't remember exactly when Brave came on the scene but Dissenter was initially a browser extension. It was blacklisted by all major browsers which is when Torba attempted to make his own browser.
Yeah, I know. I made Tampermonkey script to use it on Brave because you could still access the page in the browser.
It used to post your comment directly to Gab. When that functionality ceased it was a hassle and basically pointless. Also when I waned using Gab - haven't logged in for months.
If Torba hadn't tried to make his own browser and instead made an official extension for Brave - which is a success - it would have survived.
