I remember the old days (Windows 7 and before) when I got a pre-built PC; first thing I always did was format the whole hard drive and do a clean Windows install. And just like that, McAfee was no longer entrenched on my system. Or 30 day free AOL trials. Or Norton. Or any other obscure software that never fully uninstalled.
But now that Windows is the malware, guess that doesn't matter anymore.
The European install of Windows is less cancerous than the North American install.
If you trick your Windows 11 to think it is a European version, you can do things like truely uninstall Microsoft Edge and opt-out of web search in your computer's search.

The better solution is to install Linux. Mint ( normie desktop use ) or Bazzite ( preloaded for gaming ).
