It was only ever questioned by the inferior -- and those in control who wanted to infiltrate the inferior to live amongst the superior.

Prior civilisations had a caste system for a reason, because those who ARE inferior should be separated from those who are superior in order to maintain stability, growth, productivity and evolutionary progress.
