Not really. They honestly believe that they're so awesome that what they're doing isn't horrible. That they're owed this for being so awesome. They believe that they are the only real humans, and everyone else is animals, literal shit golems, and slaves-to-be. They believe that they can command their god to do whatever they want to do, trick their god into believing that breaches of their religious laws aren't, and that anything they do or say or promise can be absolved temporally and eternally with a few words of non-apology.
