The biggest misunderstanding today's youth generation have is that they think that Disney (or any big company producing consumer products) does not know nor understand this.
They absolutely do know and absolutely do understand this -- the people who run/ran the company (I'm not sure who is in charge now as I've mostly tuned out) were in charge or working in executive positions during the height of Disney's popularity and output for aspirational content across various mediums (i.e., television, books, movies, music, and even video games).
There was a time when Disney was outputting fantastic content across nearly every medium they touched, so they obviously understood what worked.
The misconception today is that Disney does not understand; that somehow the creative process and the output rendered therein is somehow foreign to them.
This is not the case.
Everything Disney is outputting is being done on purpose, and with a purpose.
"But why would they make bad products no one wants to buy?"
Because eventually, when you flood the market with bad products no one wants to buy, people will either have to buy your old products (to which Disney re-releases and "updates" for the "modern audience") or they will eventually have to consume your new(est) product.
It's starvation of the market.
We're seeing this happen across the board, and we're even seeing people on THIS very forum fall victim to it. How many people have recommended a milquetoast or cryptoleftist product because it simply wasn't uber-woke or ultra-Leftist propaganda?
How many people here have decided to support or recommend a book or game or comic or family movie or a streaming product promoting some form of leftism simply because it wasn't as bad as the worst form of Liberal Progressive agitprop?
In the exact same way they took the long march through the institutions, they're doing the exact same thing with consumer products as well.
Most people don't have the wherewithal nor the social constitution to completely avoid all forms of cultural influence, indefinitely. Eventually it chips away at you because humans are social creatures, and while you can attempt to stick to older products/media where applicable, eventually you also want to engage in some form of contemporary media to still feel like you belong.
It's an embedded part of the design that is being exploited by the zeitgeist for the outcome that we're seeing unfold in real-time.
TL;DR: Disney knows how to make money when they want; they know how to build captivating products when they want. They're doing what they're doing on purpose because it's all part of a nefarious, long-term goal to demoralise, control, and corrupt.
This. Propaganda isn't for us, it's for our kids and grandkids. You think a 14 year old girl is going to be critically discerning over her media, or just watch what she's told to?
100% bang-on. Every time I come across normie teens discussing the latest corposlop, they absolutely do not care.
I recently came across a trailer for some normie goyslop film about two couples who find out that their significant others are cheating on them. Both couples are mixed race couples -- there were two comments who pointed out the DEI propaganda, and a BUNCH of comments defending the DEI propaganda, and attacking the commenters who pointed out the DEI propaganda.
That's just one example of countless where the youth generation doesn't even stop to think about it. They oftentimes retort "Go touch grass. [X] exists in real life!". When applicable I'll drop some stats to disprove them, but otherwise they're all completely converged.
Now maybe there is a hidden white pill in the possibility that majority of people DO NOT accept DEI in any of their products and social media is just censoring all those comments and leaving bot comments that do accept it.
But YouTube has been randomly recommending me random videos from tiny channels made by zoomers making content about sociopolitical matters, and if they aren't redpilled straight White males, then they are almost all completely converged (especially the wenches).
Animation doesn't let you write off travel and dining as "business expenses", and it doesn't give you an opportunity to hand out nepotism roles or fuck young starlets.

I'm glad you typed all that out. As I would have become discouraged, and given up two paragraphs in.

Now imagine, an actual seasoned animator.
