If anything, it's Iran that captured the US Soldier and hasn't announced it specifically so the USA continues their search, putting Americans soldiers and equipment in danger making it easier for Iran to damage the USA.
Besides Saudi Arabia, the rest of the Gulf is irrelevant. If Iran's infrastructure is too highly damaged then them destroying everything else around them is their idea of Israel's Samson Option. They simply won't care what happens to anyone else if they're mostly destroyed. We may even see an Iranian ground invasion of Saudi Arabia.

That doesn't make any sense, given the amount of AI propaganda Iran made of them capturing US servicemen, why wouldn't they parade an ACTUAL captured US solider like Iraq did to the British during the Gulf War?
Iran wouldn't be able to do a ground invasion, if they've destroyed ALL water desalination plants in the gulf, you've just destroyed all reliable water sources in the Gulf, Iran would invade a desert wasting resources and leaving their men to die after getting past the A10s straffing them crossing then having a lack of water as the Saudis left abandon the foreign labour there while they retreat to the few sources of water left
