I suppose I'm next in line to beat the dead horse today, but McCarthyism, along with the play about the Salem Witch Trials that it spawned, was a specious story dramatized to take the heat off communists by elite Jews, since many of them were communist. McCarthy was a bit of a loose cannon, but he didn't invent the House Un-American Activities committee. HUAC had been investigating communists for decades, as they were a massive problem.
The next generation of these people then proceeded to take over the internet.

Someone is going to do the research one day and find out that witch trials were completely justified. Ed Dutton kind of already did it but I didn't find his podcast on it comprehensive enough.
There's actually books about it already that prove that communists were infesting Hollywood and HUAC was pestering them. I think David Horowitz may have wrote one of them, as he was basically a Jewish communist who defected
