Second this. Heavily second this. A family business is a great way to protect you and your family, and to actually OWN something.
I read an article a year or two back about the "secret millionaires." People who started and owned small/regional businesses that largely fly under the radar. An example was someone who specialized in installing carpets in elementary schools. Kids are tough as hell on facilities, and many schools replace their classroom carpets every 1 or 2 years. That's a lot of money on the table!

If you can't find anyone local who does that work, well then fill the void.
People's heads get full of bullshit. I think they dream of some glamorous job when they get older. You can become a millionaire just running a lawncare and landscaping company, or reroofing houses, or fixing cars or trucks of a particular brand you fancy, or specialize in repairing something more specialized like elevators or walk in freezers at restaurants.
When it's July and it's 100 degrees out, people will pay you any amount of money to get their air conditioning working again!

It's a conversation starter. "Hey ever thought about upgrading from doorbell cam and getting cameras on all 4 corners of your house?? I can do complete install for less than $2000, no monthly or annual fees. App and all video stored locally inside your own home, not on some Russian or Chinese cloud server. Here's my card."
Then you give cash discounts. Or you fucking write off everything on your taxes. Your truck your clothes your lunch your tools. Pay less taxes than when you were hourly wage employee lol.
