I did qualify IF it isn't a virtue signal, cause it's like being a conservative Christian in Hollywood. You're sidelined unless you're both talented and popular enough that they NEED you to bring money in.

I'm unfamiliar with this sports ball player, but if he is both talented and popular enough to bring in money, perhaps he is based and redpilled?

But if he is talented enough for the NBA, but not particularly popular, it could be vapid virtue signaling, as you pointed out.
