Ask yourself the following question.
Why would Iran buy Chinese suicide drones if they produce combat tested drones themselves that everyone else is copying?
I'm just saying what I heard, might've been Iran wanted a huge stockpile of drones so got a few from China to see if theirs was any good if their own production was hit.
They have a huge stockpile of drones. They don't need Chinese drones. I read that headline too and filed it under propaganda bullshit. Maybe they got some Chinese drones to test and deemed them terrible. That's possible but they are most definitely irrelevant militarily. Iran is most definitely not dumb enough to rely on imports for this war.
It's just hard for me to gauge the Chinese as I think they are a glass cannon but I don't know how much of a glass cannon they are as is their equipment shit or is the stuff they send out worse than the stuff they have domestically?
You won't be able to gauge them until they're actually engaged in a war. If you don't actually test your military and equipment under actual combat conditions you'll never know how they'll actually fare in a war.
Everyone thought Russia would steamroll Ukraine. Now the war is going on for four years already.
Everyone thought the US would just steamroll Iran and the 1 day 'Major Combat Operation' already has turned into 'not-a-war' that'll last until September or maybe even longer.
In the end the quality of your military equipment is far less important than how quickly you can replace that equipment. Logistics and production win wars in the end. WW1 and WW2 are the best (recent) examples of that.
Iran probably wants more drones than they can build.
