You cannot convince me that the father of the 12 year old rapist is any less responsible for his child’s crime than the dad in the school shooting case. In fact the 12 year old’s parents are worse. They’re actively defending their child’s actions after the fact.
Let me start by saying, I'd be 100% on board with the rapist being tried, convicted, and sentenced to euthanisia along with the people defending him.
But. Shooter's dad was "negligent" to the point of nearly being a co-conspirator. And yes; that same standard should applied to everyone at the ATF who armed the cartels.
"Aren't bank robberies awesome? Wouldn't it be a rush to rob a bank? I hate the people at our local branch."
"Merry Christmas bro. I got you a shotgun, balaklava, and a sack with a dollar sign on it."
I get your point, but there's a blurry line between when it becomes contributory in a reasonable person's eyes. It being a kid that he's responsible for ups the burden of responsibility. Assuming the prosecution's statement is accurate that is.
I don't disagree, but also wouldn't buy you a gun as a gift now.
