They never had it. Women do not scale. In close communities, any shame tossed out by the women there made pariahs of those being shamed. This does not work writ large.
In fact, the past 20 years of public internet use has done more damage to women as a brand than any event in history. Sulkowitz, Sarkesian, Rapinoe, and even now that dumb dike who got a new third eye with the help of a bullet, all spokespersons not of modern women, but for women of all eras and cultures. At the very least, it demonstrated that being exhibitionist whores are their default mode, and those who are not had to fight that urge.
Groups like the original Red Pill people (Rollo Tomassi specifically) insist that this is a good thing but I think its only a good thing if everybody involved has the ability to introspect about, say, how they would react if their wife tosses aside years of marriage and a family for a single feeling she got seeing another man's triceps flex as he pushed open a door, for example. It doesn't take much. Men grew up mainly around other men, competitive men, passive men, men who are measurably different people year-over-year due to incentives and opportunity, aptitude and capability. In men's communities the sense of honor and hierarchy established itself naturally and was respected. I DO think its a good thing for men to realize that this only applies to men as a whole.

Oh yes, of course. Unfortunately, no one was able to see it until you showed up with your great wisdom and insights.
