Remember the "father" is a step dad (non-bio) and has zero connection to the son
Also the kid just "happened" to find the key to the gun-safe abd somehow this was done after the mother celebrated the kid's 11 birthday
While I don't doubt the kid had motive to kill the step father, i believe the mother gave him access to the guns in hopes the courts will go easy on the kid

Him being the step dad seals it for me. I don't think he's reaching at all. There's nothing women hate more on a visceral level than a beta male and the dude was worth more to her dead than alive. Why take the lion's share of the assets in a divorce rape when she can have it all? Framing the son is next level sociopath shit but this is a woman we're talking about.
