I'm so old I remember the first dozen commercials were mostly hits and a few misses. After that the serious (usually car) commercials started appearing. Then when a commercial played a second time, we knew the lineup was over.

Didn't even bother to watch half-time. I'm sure next year will be even worse slop; and maybe instead of Green Day playing American Idiot, Billie will simply say over the mic "all of you are dumbasses and if you voted for Trump then fuck you" and the whole stadium will erupt in cheering.
