honestly i enjoyed the new star trek so far, its pretty clearly not the star trek universe but the liberal shit is so deranged that is seems like an intentional parody, i know its not intended as parody but i found it funny
like saying to use empathy when canon is that saying she is telling them to use empathy plants to cause apsolute fucking chaos and maybe kill a few people
"the burn" is really fucking stupid and needs to be retconned when star trek is back in the hands of someone who actually likes star trek
If Paramount takes Star Trek in another direction, then "the burn" (introduced in STD) will be ignored completely.
Secret Hideout (the production company) is co-owner of all of the new Star Trek. To make shows that even reference that material means that Secret Hideout must be involved.
Rumors are that Star Trek Academy is such an unwatchable flop, with such a shocking price-tag (more than $10 Million an episode) that Kurtzman and Secret Hideout are fired. Paramount is in so much debt, then can't afford to spend ten million an episode to destroy their most profitable franchise.
I suspect that going forward any new Star Trek projects will just pretend that Kurtzman Trek never happened.
I doubt that anyone cares anymore, but ... perhaps things might be less bad? This "Melrose Space" bullshit is the last straw for many.

Not a coincidence.
