There's things I don't like about Gen Z, but most of it I understand the reason behind it. The not liking rock music thing is too bizarre though. Everyone liked rock music. If you were in grade school in the 2000s, you were liking music from the 70s, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin - through the 90s.
It seemed like every generation appreciated rock.
But I've heard that Gen Z does not like rock music. I don't get it. To me that's like "not liking apple pie"; it's such an American cornerstone that it's baffling.
Can you blame them? It's just propaganda from another era. Just take a look at the lyrics for Neil Young's "Southern Man," Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Saturday Night Special," or Styx's "Fooling Yourself." And those are just the one's I can name off the top of my head from the local station just playing them too much.
Honestly, the only music I listen to anymore are game soundtracks, especially the Stellaris Soundtrack and Nordic power metal (which is once again filled with literal propaganda).
Yeah Andreas made some nice music for stellaris and then later dlcs got rid of him in favor of something more... generic? Bland? Wonder what happened there.
The other two were pretty obvious propaganda, but what’s wrong with this one?
Its boomers telling GenX men that everything is fine, when in fact everything is going to shit. Now GenX didn't have it near as bad as Millennials and Zoomers, but the decline was well underway.
"Your future looks quite bright to me"
Oh for some reason I thought it was talking to boomers. That makes sense.
You might be right, but i just know that it pisses me off every time I hear it, but I'm a millennial.
