This is purely anecdotal but I've noticed an uptick in the phrase African American. During all tthe 2020 stuff black seemed to become the dominant nomenclature for dark pigmented people.

They've used up b-b-b-b-black by now and the very word is tainted in the eyes of the public. I know a few actual African guys at work that refuse to even call themselves black, because they don't want to be associated with American blacks.
