Come on dude, you and I both now that despite the play calls, players can audible and even change plays depending on what they see on the field. Look you obviously want to be an asshole here, and pretend football is some deep intellectual experience. It's not but whatever, so you win.
Did you not know the QBs/players are miked? They aren’t calling audibles from their viewpoint 90% of the time, the OC is from the box view. Also audibles and play changes are literally if/or inputs they aren’t drastically changing formation.
I know the QB is mic'ed and one defense player is mic'ed. And not every OC is in the booth. Sometimes coordinators prefer to be on the sideline.
Every single game there is a coordinator/ assistant coordinator on both sides in the box and they communicate directly with the miked players, just like how, magically, the only player making defensive audibles is the one that’s miked.
Are you not aware those mics have a time limit and shut off
