Don't even discuss it with them.
"Am I under arrest? Do you have a warrant? Am I being written a citation? Then get off my property." Rinse, repeat, say nothing else. Unless they are answering your questions talk over them and don't give them a chance.
"I don't discuss my speech with anyone wearing a badge. Get a warrant if you think you have cause and I'll see you in court."
