Even SNL is funny now and then. "Moar Cowbell" is timelessly funny! Especially since I'm a huge Blue Oyster Cult fan.
But he's just as guilty as all the rest. Since Ferguson retired not one has been different or funny. It's all (90%) bash Republicans and regurgitate the latest DNC talking points. Cookie cutters.
Indeed I am! A lurker for the most part, in fact almost always. Their discussion threads hit 600 in a flash, it's hard to chat there. I did just the other day though :>
I joined a long time ago, 19+ years in fact! Just after the major format upgrade.
I do remember his early Late-nite career he was pretty funny. Clips I saw were amusing. But he did always have a hard-left 'tilt' and like you said he got full-blown TDS in 2016.
Did he make a single joke about Biden? One that wasn't a "backhand compliment" or a disguised attack on Repubs or Trump?
An example of that: "The Biden Whitehouse has a terrible inflation problem. Caused by Trump of course!" The audience cheers & claps like seals. 😶
That sort of thing has been common since the Clinton years. "Dhur Dhur I had sex!" Ignoring his self-admitted Felony Perjury...
I don't agree with that at all, before Trump he was doing the classic "mock all politicians equally" that late night was known for.
Did he make a single joke about Biden?
I stopped watching Conan in after the 2020 election, I think shortly after J6 (it was during the height of covid) when he did this TDS interview with Trump hater Nicole Wallace.
TBF everybody was afraid to make fun of Obama, I remember the 1st time Jon Stewart made an Obama joke and the crowd acted like he whipped his dick out.
True that, his statement is true, but would be more believable if he actually did this himself, eh?
As someone pointed out, he was far less biased early in his late-nite career. That's nice. Then full blown TDS took over though & he's never recovered. Neither have his ratings, thankfully!
The irony of O'Brien telling anyone to "be funny first" is... hysterical! His entire career is bashing Republicans and sucking up leftist vomitus.
You probably have him confused with Kimmel. Conan's remote segments are some of the funniest TV ever. Clueless Gamer was amazing too.

Are you a former/current Moron from Ace of Spades HQ? Given the cowbell I thought I'd ask.

Not his entire career, he was probably the last late night host to go TDS.
Pre-Trump he was like Carson in that he made fun of politicians but never got political.

Did he ever make fun of Obama? That would be a true metric of objectivity.

They squinted? Jokes aside, that doesn't surprise me. He was the untouchable god.
Does that make the statement any less true? Is there some signed off qualification needed to say something that is inheriently true.
