The Star Trek I grew up with always depicted Starfeet Academy as a super strict place where every cadet is put through the ringer to ensure only the best of the best could pass muster, where every graduate comes out with a tungsten rod up their ass and has to learn through service when and how to relax. Can't wait to hear how this show makes it into a gay adult daycare like modern colleges.
