They've been trying this with microsoft hololens setups for a couple years now and the big problem is motion sickness and also the fucking thing not working because microsoft.
Full vision proxies will be necessary in all future conflicts as soon as someone figures out they can put a pulse laser on a drone.
Yeah, it's been aiming at more control for the command center than the actual soldier. The new style at least gives the soldier knowledge and abilities to also see things.
