In Animal Crossing, in the original (Japanese) there is a Christmas and Easter celebration, but in the Western localization it’s changed to “Toy Day” and “Bunny Day” or some shit like that.
Any time Christmas is mentioned, which the Japanese clearly love, it’s deleted from the Western localization.
There was actually a legit Jewish Nintendo employee ranting on reddit one time about this, basically admitting he was responsible for Nintendo avoiding, or fearing, the use of the word Christmas at all costs. If I recall correctly the Jew employee was STILL mad that Animal Crossing ultimately ended up utilizing Christmas decorations despite the word “Christmas” having been axed.
