Western adverts have gone from nuclear family and aspirational to obtuse degeneracy and self-flagellation over the course of my lifetime.
Japanese commercials started like cocaine fueled fever dreams, and stayed exactly that way too.
I used to be annoyed that Dragon Quest wasn’t as popular in the West as Final Fantasy but now I realize that was actually a blessing in disguise.
