I used to be a libertarian and didnt care if people smoked pot. I had never tried it. finally did in my mid twenties and smoked daily for over a year. I cant go to the grocery store without seeing several stoned slots shuffling their way through the store with glazed eyes. stoners should be enslaved

well, since I am no longer a stoner, no. but I should have been. a term of a few years of forced labor would be beneficial to many.
You still should be. You haven’t served your punishment. Would you accept those terms and serve years of forced labor because you were once a stoner?
if it was universally applied, then okay. But ex post facto laws are unconstitutional in the U.S.
A law banning marijuana usage would have a period of several months after it had been passed before it would take effect, just like what has been done with other prohibitions. This would give current stones several months to get their shit together. if you aren't addicted then it shouldnt be any problem to stop.
