I left graduate school in 2003, and I saw first hand this happening in the years following. It was covert, hushed but it was happening in the early 2000s.
So many papers accepted in "prestigious" journals by nobodies (include White man) here and female grad students given the world to finish their thesis and get a tenure track position a couple of days later.
Academia is filthy, and that is also some White men's fault, as they strived to get underperforming people to the top, so they could stay at the top.
I heard about this happening in Canadian universities 2 decades ago too. Professors were sent emails from HR encouraging them to (lie and) say that (diversity hire employee) was chosen via merit
Every university also requires research projects files a declaration of how the study furthers Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. No matter the subject.
Oh it's not ''mandatory''. You just get penalized for not doing it. Which means your application for the study will be passed for a team who complied.
Nobody voted fo this. In fact, we specifically voted against it in Québec. The politicians we elected were ignored by the Deep State.
The Federal government, which has no jurisdiction in education ( like they give a fuck ), bypassed the government of Québec to directly bribe universities to do it anyway.
I've just finished my undergrad in 2023. Due to what I saw and encountered, I only have respect for White Men that graduate now. Because I know how heavy the deck is stacked against them, and I know how much others are pandered too. I could go back and work on a Masters, but at this point, I'd rather not spend another cent on these institutions. And it also shows me just how bad degree inflation really is.

To be a part of any academic grant in Canada you have to fill a questionnaire about sexual preferences.

Everyone's a 'Doctor' this or that now.
No point going to academia these days.
True. I've been looking at a pilots school if I want to continue learning and expanding my skill base. Sorry about the late reply.
