The Robocop tech shown in the movie was well done and really paints a picture of a Big Brother future we are all heading towards (cameras everywhere, AI facial recognition good enough to flag you as a wanted criminal, real-time access to phone conversations or even private conversations held in a public setting). Otherwise it was a substandard movie that limited itself with the PG13 rating
Director made some of the best movies ever with the Elite Squad films, which in my opinion were on par/better than the Sicario films.
Director had some awesome plans for the RoboCop reboot, which would have made it a hard R, but execs stepped in and said "No" at every turn.
You can sort of see the bones of what he wanted to do, but can also see where he was definitely hamstrung. The best parts of that film were the opening when they were in Afghanistan.
It was made in 11 or 12. Not terrible but not as good as the original
