During the fall, essentially abandons lots of equipment, American CIVILIANS and leads to a rushed evacuation in which thousands of unvetted afghans get a trip to the US....while still leaving lots of American citizens high and dry and resulting in the deaths of marines.
Years later, one of said unvetted afghans kills a female national guard solider right by the white house.
It's why the media are desperately trying to downplay it as it's the greatest show of how incompetent the Biden administration was.
Crypto in this case not meaning crypto currency. But instead a fed/military slang for cryptographic devices, secure end to end encoders, code keys, code books, and records and logs of secure transmissions.

That isn't even the worst part.
The withdrawal was so botched that the embassy didn't have time to destroy their crypto. It all got snagged by the Taliban.
I don't know what's more disappointing: the crypto getting stolen, or the fact that government officials bought crypto in the first place.
