Some might not see this as a big deal, and perhaps it's not, but to me toy construction has always been a dad activity. I fully believe they intentionally made the mom the builder to subvert the traditional gender roles.

I’ve noticed this too. Things like that where the mom is doing things the dad would traditionally do. Silliest example would be from that terrible watchman show they had to include the Tulsa race riots and they had a scene where the woman went out with the gun and handed the baby to her husband to take care of.
I’ve mentioned before that I mainly watch older shows or rarely anything past 2014 but I wish I could set the commercials for the past as well. I can watch pace picante commercials or mentos commercials all day
So infuriating.
A wife would only pick up a firearm to defend herself from someone immediately attacking her. Not her husband. Not her kid.
The concept of fighting out of eye-sight to defend the family is strictly a husband thing.
Exactly. Almost like men are protectors and women are nurturers and that is why they complement each other as if it was by design. Hate seeing this subversion obsession.
