I couldn't figure out if she is technically still a sitting MP in the Carney government.
She "resigned" as Trudeau's Finance Minister on the eve of budget day last Dec, but still kept her seat in Toronto, running again & winning after Trudeau stepped down and Carney got installed in April 2025.
Then Carney gave her some minor Cabinet role. She announced in Sept that she was "resigning" from that too because Carney was instead creating a fake "Special Envoy to Ukraine" position that was never intended to exist but gave her an extra 20k payout.
She's still listed as the active MP for her Toronto University-Rosedale commie riding. I couldn't find any info about her vacating the seat or a future by-election pending.
The Rhodes Scholar press release says she doesn't take over as CEO until July 2026.
Not sure if Freeland is still officially sitting on the WEF board as an active politician.
Anyways, though she's obviously on her way out, it still seems bad form to award a plum globalist patronage post to a sitting politician.
